Staying at the Sonesta? You can jump on the free shuttle or walk here if the weather is nice. It's right in the center of the Galleria and has a huge menu for everyone.
Staying at the Sonesta? Jump on the free shuttle or walk here, it's one of our favorite seafoods spots in Austin.
Looking for a quick bite to eat? Torchy's is a great option for tacos, queso & chips and a good patio.
One of our favorite restaurants near our home, you have to try their bruschetta! Staying at the Sonesta? They offer a free shuttle anywhere under 3 miles and The Grove is! Ask the front desk to grab the driver and get a glass of wine with dinner.
An incredible Italian restaurant with outdoor seating! Staying at the Sonesta? They offer a free shuttle anywhere under 3 miles and The Garden at Ellera is! Ask the front desk to grab the driver and get a glass of wine with dinner.
Callie’s favorite restaurant in downtown Austin in the South Congress neighborhood. It’s a great area to park, walk around south Congress avenue and eat the best Asian fusion BBQ. This is a popular place, so be prepared to have a longer wait (they currently aren't taking reservations but that could change).
Looking for classic Austin BBQ? It's All Good is our favorite and it's worth the hike further into hill country.
For the best view of Lake Travis, we recommend grabbing a drink at The Oasis bar, walking around the shops, or just making a quick stop for the view. The food is nothing to brag about, especially with other great options around hill country and downtown Austin.
Mike's favorite sandwich shop!
A very Austin scene: bungalows turned into bars and two food truck parks. There's generally live music at the different bars and more food trucks. We definitely recommend checking this out if you're downtown!
Our favorite coffeehouse! They have a huge selection of desserts and coffees, but the best part about it is they have a patio overlooking Lake Austin with live music usually all weekend.
A great coffeeshop and bar with outdoor seating tucked away from the main st that you forget you're downtown. This is a great stop if you plan to visit the cathedral of junk before heading downtown for some shopping along South Congress Avenue.
About one million bats fly out at sunset every night from the Congress Ave bridge. We highly recommend if you're downtown that you join the crowds after dinner, it's very cool!
Did you forget to pack something? The outdoor shopping mall near our home has everything you could need. There's also some great restaurants if you want a bite to eat, our personal favorites are: Cafe Blue (mainly seafood), Tadashi (sushi), The League Bee Cave (american) and Amy's Ice Cream.
We frequent this park because it has water access! A lot of the properties surrounding Lake Travis are privately owned and this is one of the few places you can swim for a small fee. If it's hot our wedding week, we highly recommend spending the afternoon here!
We walk this trail with our dogs at least once a month. It’s a beautiful, easy trail that’s well marked.
If the weather is nice, Zilker Park has everything you need for a fun afternoon! Rent a bike and see the park (including the river and city views), swim at Barton Springs Pool, disc golf, eat at the food trucks or sunbathe. There's also a great hiking trail near the park called Barton Creek Greenbelt.
Looking for something uniquely Austin? The Cathedral of Junk is exactly what you would imagine and the epitome of "one man's trash is another man's treasure." The owner requests that you call ahead because the cathedral is in his backyard.
