Morgan and Dylan, who have been together for the last 7 years, are proud to announce their upcoming wedding on June 15, 2024. They are so excited to share this joyous day with you all and invite you to join them at the Historical Park in Farmers Branch, Texas at 2 PM.
Dylan proposed to Morgan on August 7th, 2021 at the Farmers Branch Rose Gardens which is right next to where they will be getting married! After being together for the last 4 years, it was finally time to ask the big question, so Dylan began planning the perfect proposal! Like a couple of crazy kids in love, they had already purchased a couch to sit on during their wedding ceremony (before they ever even got engaged) so together with Morgan’s parents they lugged that couch all the way from Denton to Farmers Branch and set it up in the Gardens under the beautiful arches displayed there. Along with the couch, Dylan also set up a heart-shaped rose wreath and a delicious afternoon tea spread to surprise Morgan with. When everything was finally ready, Dylan covered her eyes and walked her from the car to a trail of rose petals, which led all the way to the back of the Garden. They then walked hand in hand as they followed the rose petals all the way back to the elaborate surprise he had set up just for her. Once there, they drank tea and ate cute little pastries together as they watched millions of dragonflies fly overhead, all of them wishing them luck and blessing their engagement. When they were done eating, he walked her over to another arch where the heart shaped wreath was waiting for them. He got down on one knee…. and the rest is history!
Dylan and Morgan met due to an accidental Facebook Friend Request. Yes, really. Completely unbeknownst to her, Morgan accidentally sent Dylan a friend request on Facebook, which he promptly accepted because she was, and I quote, “insanely hot” and he recognized her last name since he knew her cousins from school. She saw his profile after he accepted her accidental request and didn’t know who he was or why they were now friends, but also thought he was “insanely hot” (ah, to be 15 again)! So, Morgan checked out his profile and quickly fell head over heels for him. Morgan soon announced to her mom that this boy, Dylan Smith, would be the next guy she would date and showed everyone in her family his dorky home movies that he’d posted to Facebook. Everyone teased her over how much she already seemed to like this Dylan guy, especially since she hadn’t even talked to him yet. So, she finally messaged him. And he didn’t respond. He didn’t respond for days on end and Morgan was beginning to lose hope that he ever would, so she got a mutual friend involved who messaged Dylan to say, “I think my friend Morgan messaged you the other day and you should message her back because you guys have loads in common.” That was all the push he needed and they began talking that very day! After a few days of talking, Morgan worked up the courage to ask Dylan to join her school musical, a production of the Ugly Duckling story called "HONK!", which he quickly agreed to. During the audition, they each started to fall in love just by hearing the other sing (a trait they had both always wanted in a partner). And then, all of a sudden, he was cast as her husband, before they ever even started dating, though that was soon to follow. The play never did end up happening, but at least it wasn’t a waste of time, because it brought them together. And now after 7 years, they’ll be getting married for real this time!
