We had met through mutual friends and stayed in touch occasionally, but after running into each other at Dylan's high school graduation things seemed to click differently than they had previously. We talked throughout the week and I had plans to head up to my parent's cabin in Mccall for the weekend, so Dylan decided him and his friend would drive up and we could all hang out. We spent the entire night listening to music, talking, sitting in the hot tub, star gazing, laughing, and little did we know, beginning the rest of our life together.
After just over 6 years together and through job changes, school, raising two pups, and purchasing our first home together, we knew it was time to take the next step in our relationship. We had planned a get away weekend to McCall to just relax and enjoy some time off from our busy schedules. Our best friends wanted to drive up and hang out with us on Saturday, so we spent most of the day just lounging and enjoying the gorgeous McCall day. When dinner time came around, Jess and I went to the store to pick up some groceries. We got back to the cabin and I walked in through the garage to find all the lights turned off and our song playing in the background. I turned the corner and there was a path of candles with roses throughout leading to the back patio. I opened the back patio to find Dylan down on on one knee in a bed of roses and a light up "LOVE" sign behind him outlined in balloons, with the gorgeous McCall golf course behind us. I said YES! before he could even ask. He then told me he's supposed to ask before I say yes and I was able to contain my excitement long enough for him to ask the most important question of our life, followed by an "Of course!" and some celebratory drinks with our best friends.
