Hi. Welcome. Liz asked me to write a section about us. I agreed, so long as she agreed not to title this section “Our Journey.” See? Compromise…
We’re celebrating ten years of accomplishing similar stuff together in wildly different ways.
We graduated from hostess/delivery to become servers. She was polite, composed, professional. I dropped a tray of drinks on my first big table’s guest of honor.
We graduated from San Diego State University. She did it in four years, with a minor, while working, on the dean’s list, and she travelled abroad. I did it in 7 years after repeating 6 community college courses.
We graduated from servers to become bartenders. For some reason she always made more, and people would leave phone numbers on the receipts.
We became attorneys together and we’re proud of each other for enduring that punishment.
Then she agreed to marry me. She’s had ample warning of my shenanigans. I couldn’t be happier and I hope you can come celebrate with us. - D.G.
