June 6, 2019 I sat with my friend, Joey at George Jones Museum, in Nashville discussing potential bachelors for my sister Kayla. I told him I had been praying a cowboy would descend from the heavens and asked if he had any friends coming to the Cross Country Trail Ride in Eminence, MO. He quickly told me no.. I asked are you sure? He then said I have one friend, Dylan. He showed me a photo that I then showed Kayla for her to only say he is not my type. Thank goodness he wasn't! A few days latter Kayla and I packed our bags and headed to the CCTR. On night one we decided to stay in and rest up for Saturday night. Saturday we put on our best western wear in wild walker fashion and headed to the happening spot in town, Skinny Dicks, thats right Richards Steakhouse by day Skinny Dicks by night. We made our way up to the bar. As I ordered my drink a cowboy at the end of the bar was ordering a tray of shots. He looked down the bar and slid me one saying "this ones for you". I responded "I don't take shots from strangers" took the shot and passed it off to a friend. Later on that night the same cowboy approached me and said "I like your hat" mind you I was wearing a flat brimmed hat before flat hats were cool. At first I thought he was making fun of me just like everyone else was that night. A few days later he asked me on our first date to the dairy shack. June 2023 will be our 4th year together at the trail-ride. Who would have ever thought a city girl from Nashville would fall in love with a cowboy in Eminence, Mo.

October 8, 2022 I started my day in Eminence, Mo saddling horses with a few good friends. The plan was to ride to Alley Springs and to meet Doc and Kay for tacos. I had asked Kay the night before if she would bring us lunch but she told me her and Doc were busy, so that morning I had to text her and say Kayla I am going to need your help today and told her the plan. We went on a two hour trail ride to Alley. Britt and I were in the front while Doug and Al were bringing up the rear. Britt was eager to see the springs as it was the perfect fall day. I talked her into waiting for Doc and Kay. Once they arrived we ate lunch, hade a few drinks, and decided to all go and see the springs. When we got to the spot I wanted to propose at there were too many people around so we walked the loop around the spring. Britt was clueless up until the moment I dropped down on one knee.
