In the quaint, idyllic apartment complex known to Knoxville natives as Hudson on the Greenway, two people found home. Literally-- they had both recently moved into a new apartment. The girl-next-door meets the boy-next-door when the girl asks how to use the laundry machine. A Seinfeld-esque friendship develops, and right when things are about to get good, Dylan moves to the big city: Enterprise, Alabama. Dylan begins his army aviation training for flight school, leaving Reagan behind. She begins to wonder: is there something here? The heroine embarks on the seven hour journey to determine their fate. Upon arrival, the age-old "I like you, you like me" conversation ensues. Reality sets in, and fears about the distance, the newness, and the unknown seal their decision to stay platonic (but, dare we say, still smitten!). Or so they thought... As Reagan leaves the Ft. Rucker School of Army Aviation in her rearview mirror, a miracle happens. 45 minutes into her drive home for Thanksgiving, her driver side tire, wheel, and lug nuts fly off of her Nissan Altima. She's stranded on the side of the road in Troy, Alabama, still six hours away from home and on uncertain terms with Dylan. One phone call changed everything.
