If there is one thing in Alabama that brings people together it is this: College Football. For the two of us that is especially true. On a warm, late September day two and a half years ago both of us were invited (but in truth, setup) by our close friends to attend the same Alabama football game together. Alexis will never forget, her mother practically dragged her out of bed to make sure she made the game! We quickly found ourselves bonding over our love of the same shows, our faith, and of course the Alabama Crimson Tide. The following morning, Sunday, the same friends invited us to attend church at the Grant's Mill campus for the Church of the Highlands, and as luck would have it, the sermon that morning was all about marriage! In this moment, the spark that we had felt the day prior now seemed to be a message that we were meant for each other. Since that day, we have been nearly inseparable, speaking every night and every morning. A short month and a half later and we had our first flights to see each other booked. ever since November 2022, we've been living the long-distance relationship lifestyle, a few weeks in Birmingham one month and a few weeks in Denver the next with a few stops in North Carolina along the way! The next year and half flew by, literally! Between the long United Airlines flights to each other we went from skiing in the mountains to laying out by the beaches, from exploring the small towns and beautiful parks of Colorado to spending holidays and weddings with our families in Birmingham, Greensboro, Durham and Colorado Springs. We supported each other in the growth of our careers, Alexis finding a new job and William receiving a promotion. We grew closer to God, we spent time with old friends and made many more, and we felt our love for each other continue to grow every day. Throughout this we understood that our love was meant to be, it was not a matter of "if" but "when" we would be married. The time to answer that question came to us during our biggest trip yet in Europe. In late April on a bright, warm day in Venice we became engaged. Unfortunately, we don't have any photos (that is a whole story for itself that we will share at the wedding!) but leave it to your imagination: we were the happiest we had ever been up to that moment! That leads us now to today. We (mostly Alexis, William will admit as much) have been hard at work since to plan this wedding. We are so thankful for every one of you for being a part of this special day with us. The love we feel for each other is measured in the love and caring that all of you have shown us throughout our lives.
