Will and Abby met through mutual friends in the late summer of 2019. Coincidentally, they both have a deep compassion for animals and really bonded over their love for dogs and each of their careers. Starting out as friends, they couldn't deny that they each had deeper feelings for each other. Will's first time at Abby's house, he instantly obsessed over the 2 black Labradors barking and running down the driveway. He then saw her entire dog book collection, aka library, and was intrigued. Day by day, they noticed they had more and more in common. Not only do they both love animals, but they both are avid sports fans! They love to root for the UVA Cavaliers and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Abby grew up a fan of anything Ohio and Will grew up watching and cheering for Lebron James. Will is now a die-hard Ohio State Buckeye fan, like his fiancée. In the fall of 2019, Will asked Abby to be his date to his best friends, Justin and Winnie McKenzie's wedding. That weekend, Abby fell in love with Will and knew right then and there that he was her forever. Thereafter, they were inseparable. They bought a house in Madison, now have 3 black Labradors and love the life they are building together.

In August of 2022, Will and Abby went to the island of Oahu in Hawaii to visit Will's twin sister and her husband, Sophie and Adin Brubaker. Their whole trip was an absolute dream. On the afternoon of the 18th of August, they were headed to adventure at Sea Life Park. On the way, they stopped at Makkapuu Beach to explore and enjoy the scenery. Abby was looking into the gorgeous, endless abyss of the light blue water, listening to the waves, and before she knew it, she turned around to see Will, her best friend, on one knee, asking her to marry him. She said YES instantly in between tears (and after verifying he got permission from her father and Jeremiah, yes, her black lab had to approve).
