Let's get this party started!

How We Met...

From Showmance to Romance

We met the summer of 2009 at Theatre Three in Port Jefferson, Long Island, where we were both performing in a production of The Wedding Singer the musical. And now, 12 years later, we're planning Our wedding to be held just a few blocks away, at Danford's Hotel, Marina & Spa. And wouldn't you know it, Chris is now a Wedding Singer! How's that for meant to be?

The Proposal

He Totally Popped the Question!

On August 8, 2019, one month before our 10 year anniversary as a couple, Chris gave me the surprise of a lifetime (see "Photos" section for proof)! Under a carefully planned ruse that he was subbing in on a gig with Souled Out in Port Jeff, we made the trip out to the island. I was of course very concerned about our timing, & was rushing us to get out there ASAP, as not to be late! Amidst my panic that the GPS decided to take us through the winding back woods roads of Port Jeff, Mel texts that parking was out of the question on Main Street, so we'd better park by the CVS near the theater & walk down to the gig site. We finally make it out of the woods, we're parked, & I'm power walking out in front of Chris telling him to hurry up! But, as I start to pass Theatre Three, I slow down to pause briefly and peek into the windows for a quick trip down memory lane (awww). I then hear Chris make a weird "Oops" noise behind me, so I turn around to find him on his knee. Now I'm confused because all I see is this little light & I think to myself, "Why is he filming me?" so I say, "What?" Then I see the look on his face, realize where we are, readjust my eyes and see that it's a ring box he's holding and not his phone, and then I scream, "WHAT??!?!!!" Cue the tears, and the confusion that inevitably comes when you're surprised, & I start looking around like, "but the gig!" only to see my sister waving at me, hiding behind a bush across the street with her camera. And there's poor Chris still on his knee while I finally figure out what's happening & realize I should probably give him an answer! Spoiler alert: I said YES! Then came the serendipitous moment when Jeffrey Sanzel (our director from Wedding Singer), came walking up to the theater to open it for a rehearsal. We told him what just happened, & he happily let us in to snap a few pics on the stage where we fell in love. But wait! There's more! **the surprises continue in the next section....

The Proposal Cont'd

Prime Rib or Fish?

Welcome back! After our impromptu photo shoot in the theater, I am told we need to move on- another surprise awaits! The tables have turned, & now I'M being rushed back to the car, where Chris reveals he's smuggled my favorite dress in the trunk for me to change into. He's arranged for us to have dinner at a beautiful restaurant down by the water, where our families are waiting to celebrate with us. **More tears** We get to the restaurant either by car or walking or floating, & have a beautiful dinner with our families to celebrate our engagement, followed by another mini photo shoot on the sunset-lit docks courtesy of MOH/woman of many talents, Mel. Fun Fact: Where we snapped those beautiful photos, is also where we will say, "I Do!"
