When our original wedding plans were turned upside down due to the pandemic, we were so saddened that we missed getting to celebrate with all of our loved ones. We made the difficult decision to keep our wedding date 04-25-2020 to say our vows amongst just a few people. We wouldn't change that special day for anything, but we do want the opportunity to celebrate with our loved ones who missed out on the fun! We hope you can join us!
John and Kristin met online, like many couples do these days! John’s silly message with a bear waving to say hello, made Kristin smile and his confidence to ask her out on a date right away intrigued her. However, that is just the story of how they met. More importantly, their relationship started and grew over 2.5 years of long distance communication. They spent hours learning about each other over phone conversations and frequently drove 4-6 hours across the state just to spend a weekend together. Long hikes in the Redwoods, sandy sunsets, pouncing from boulder to boulder on the cliffs along the coastline, breweries, spicy ramen, camping trips, and road trips are what have made up some of the couple's most cherished moments together.
Over the span of their growing relationship, John supported Kristin whole-heartedly as she ventured off to Nicaragua for a couple months and eventually completed her doctorate degree. Kristin cheered John on as he worked tirelessly to build a successful massage practice in Brookings, OR.
Finally, though, after 2.5 long years, John and Kristin landed in the same city - Eugene, OR - where they have nested into a cozy home and adopted their furry and wild puppy named Rusty. They worked hard to gain stability in their careers during this time as well. John had bought a ring, summer of 2019 and kept it in his backpack for several weeks, just waiting for the perfect time to pop the question. It was at the end of a weekend spent in the mountains, we spent the day swimming in a cold, alpine lake, when he surprised Kristin with a beautiful sapphire ring. Of course she said "yes!".
