What about COVID-19?

Answer

We are aware that the Coronavirus and the concerns surrounding it are a very serious matter, and could potentially affect our wedding day. As of today (August 1, 2021), our wedding remains as planned - if this changes, we will certainly let everyone know. A lot may change by October, and with so much uncertainty, we want everyone to feel comfortable knowing that we completely understand if someone cannot or chooses not to attend for any reason. PLEASE DO NOT PUT YOURSELVES AT RISK FOR OUR WEDDING If you feel you are at risk in any way, do to not feel obligated to come. Although the potential for many guests to not to be able to make it to our wedding day saddens us, we in no way want to compromise anyone's wellbeing. We have a positive and open mind about everything and what's to come, so fingers crossed it all works out the way it's suppose to. If you have ANY questions or concerns about ANYTHING, please reach out to one of us!

What airport can I fly in to?

Answer

The closest airport is in Knoxville, called McGhee Tyson Airport. It is located South of Knoxville proper in Alcoa, TN. You may also choose to fly in to Nashville and drive from there, flights may be cheaper.

Where can I stay?

Answer

For a few specific places, please see the "Travel and Accommodations" tab on this site. However, you are welcome to choose any hotel or cabin that makes you feel comfortable based on your travel plans. There are many to choose from in Alcoa, right next to the airport and many have free airport shuttles. This would put you about 40 miles (1 hour) from the venue. Maryville, just south of the airport, also has hotels and AirBnB rentals. There is a hotel in Vonore, about mid-way between the airport and venue. This is about 36 miles (26 minutes) from the airport and 17 miles (28 minutes) from the venue. Sweetwater is about 45 minutes from the airport and about 30 minutes from the venue. It is right off a main highway, and the drives to the venue and airport are straight forward. Lastly, Tellico Plains has cabin and AirBnB rentals. This is where the event is located. The venue is 10-15 minutes away, but it is the farthest from the airport- about 40 miles (1 hour).

When and where are the ceremony and reception?

Answer

The big event is October 22, 2021! Both the ceremony and reception are located at the same venue- Riverbend Farms in Tellico Plains, Tennessee. The ceremony will start at 3pm and a reception with dinner, drinks, and merriment will follow. See the event page on the website for more details!

How do I get to the venue?

From Knoxville: Take I-75 (West/South) to the Sweetwater/Hwy 68 Exit Take a left onto Hwy 68 Travel along Hwy 68 through the towns of Sweetwater and Madisonville Continue on Hwy 68 to the town of Tellico Plains Take a left onto New Providence Road At the stop sign, continue straight onto Fairview Road Travel on Fairview Road for approx. 4-5 miles Take a right at 1110 Fairview Road There is a large Riverbend Farms sign at the entrance to the gravel driveway. When should I RSVP by?

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We're not too particular about what you wear as long as it's "nice"! Semi-formal, cocktail, or dressy casual all work. Black-tie, if you're feeling especially fancy! When planning your outfits, there are a few considerations: 1) Watch the weather. It is possible for the weather to get down into the 30s at that time of year in Tennessee. 2) The venue is outdoors and you will be walking on grass. Consider that when choosing footwear! **Feel free to call us and ask how we're expecting the weather to fare!** 3) COVID-19 is a serious concern, and if you choose to attend our event, please at least bring along a face mask. We also ask that you practice responsibility and consideration for others in the weeks before as well as during your travel to minimize any risk to yourself and others while here.

Who can come?

Answer

We've included the names of the people we've accounted for on the invitation that was sent. Those are the only people who are counted in the attendance and catering lists. If you need to bring someone not on your RSVP card, please call us.

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Gifts are not required- all we hope is you can make it to spend some time with us in October! The corny phrase stands true here- "your presence is present enough!" If you do wish to give, we do have a couple registry options and they can both be found at the Registry link on this site.

Is there parking for the event?

Answer

Yes! Parking is free and available at the venue.

I have a food allergy or special dietary restrictions- can I make a special request?

Answer

The catering is buffet-style so you will be able to put together your own plate. Depending on the number of weeks it is before the wedding and they type of request, we can contact the caterer and see what is possible to accommodate. Call us with any food issues ASAP and we will see what we can do!

Is there transportation to and from the hotels/ceremony/airport?

Answer

We do not have transportation organized for guests. However, we understand renting a car for 1 or 2 people may be burdensome. Feel free to call us and we can hopefully put you in contact with someone else looking to share a car rental!
