Matador of Honor
Dana’s brother is an aficionado of socks, board games, and never sitting still. When he was born, he brought a bike home with him for his big sister, and Dana returned the favor by giving him her old crib. Working for NASA by day, Alec can be found rock climbing, playing ultimate Frisbee or floor hockey. Named the “Matador of Honor” by his future brother-in-law, he took the nomination and title in stride, adding to the infinite list of how he is the best brother a girl could have.
Best Man
Josh and Doug met at Northeastern and quickly bonded over comedy, punk rock music, and general shenanigans. Josh is also a drummer who believes that the most fun way to play is loud and fast. Josh has attempted to teach Doug multiple times how to pace himself while running which has proved difficult while Doug is listening to music of various tempos. Having given up the lost cause, Josh pursued his own goal of competing in 2 marathons and in multiple Spartan Races. Josh remains the longest tenured flatmate of Doug’s from 3 different apartments. However, this title is currently under threat by Dana. Josh has been, and continues to be, a steadfast friend who’s never shy about speaking his mind and helping those whom he cares about.
Bridesmaid
Jessica and Dana met one fateful day in sixth grade on the bus ride back from Outdoor Ed. Dana was wearing a baseball hat (and is ashamed to admit it was a Cardinals hat) and Jessica, being a huge fan of baseball and the Boston Red Sox, thought Dana must be okay to sit next to. By the time they got back to North Bethesda Middle School, a life-long friendship had been forged. From seeing “Fever Pitch” together as soon as it came out to Opening Day at Fenway Park, their bond reaches beyond the confines of any ballpark and phone calls covering any and all topics both good and bad about the latest news and hometown happenings.
Groomsman
Lucas and Doug met at Northeastern through introduction by Lucas’s lovely wife Nicole. Though never flatmates together (that honor belonged to Kyle), the two bonded over playing music and comedy. After college, Lucas and Doug would have jam sessions together where they played covers of rock music, Johnny Cash, and sometimes original music. Lucas continues to be a talented guitarist and lyricist. Having since relocated to Connecticut, Lucas was kind enough (or desperate for an eager laborer) to allow Doug to assist with home improvement projects. The fact that their house is still standing is a welcome relief to their friendship and does not pose a threat of being sued by Nicole who is a talented lawyer.
Bridesmaid
Hailing from the Green Mountain State, Kaitlyn and Dana played field hockey together at Wellesley, lived together in Maryland for two summers, and are still as close as when they were next-door-neighbors in Lake House. They first met during Dana’s overnight recruiting trip when Kaitlyn was a first-year, but their friendship truly blossomed late one Saturday night in Pendleton Hall cramming for a test or essay or problem set right before Thanksgiving break. Since college, their friendship has continued to grow while bringing Duncan and Doug into the fold. The duo still finds excuses to enjoy the outcome of a baking adventure, a much needed manicure, a new wine, or a fancy cocktail discovered on a night out on the town.
Groomsman
Rich and Doug met at Northeastern where they shared multiple classes freshman year and continued to cross paths until an inevitable friendship formed. Rich is a fantastic runner and, like Josh, tried to impart his wisdom to Doug with varied levels of success. While they don’t share the same love of music, that didn’t prevent them from belting out karaoke over the years. Such a bond was formed in fact that Rich allowed Doug to take his first attempt ever at cutting hair. The sequence of events still varies depending on who tells the story. Rich and Doug have remained close through their love of Boston sports and skiing. Don’t let his casual demeanor fool you, Rich is a fierce friend with a sharp wit who's always available for discussion over a nice bottle of wine.
Bridesmaid
Gina and Dana grew up in the same neighborhood in Bethesda, Maryland – Stratton Woods to be exact – and played soccer under the tutelage of two great coaches (their dads). From countless play dates, sleepovers, Girl Scout camping trips, family movie nights, gallivanting around Edinburgh when Dana studied abroad, the list of shared experiences and bonding moments could go on and on… While today an entire ocean keeps them apart, Scotland is not too far away to travel to celebrate the nuptials of an old and dear friend, as demonstrated back in June 2018 and now again in October 2021.
Groomsman
Thurston and Doug met at Northeastern through introduction by Josh. Despite his level-headedness, Thurston was victim to one of the most hysterical displays of hypnosis Doug has ever seen. He’s a well-rounded athlete, pianist, and is always the best dressed of the group. Despite his premature departure from Northeastern, he remained driven and focused on his studies in New York where he now works as a Civil Engineer. Despite hailing from rivaled cities, Thurston has remained a close friend and a much needed calming presence (a quality which was greatly missed to offset the chaos that comes from having Josh, Rich, and Doug all together). He is one of the nicest human beings Doug has ever had met and Doug still has yet to hear him utter a single negative word about anyone.
Groomsman
Kyle and Doug met at Northeastern where they bonded over comedy, swimming, and lifeguarding experiences. Kyle continues to be a loving wild card. While Doug never knows what Kyle will say or do next, it’s a safe bet that it will be hilarious. His general lack of filter is both fearless and refreshing which not only applies to his comedy, but also caries over for more serious matters where his honest insight and candor is always appreciated. He is a Doctor of Pharmacy working in a hospital in Connecticut which makes his profession the most altruistic of the group. He continues to be an avid outdoorsmen, cook, beer aficionado, DIY enthusiast, and loving doggie dad to Violet and Kaladin.
