In 2013, a mutual friend of Doug and I asked me to meet her and some of her friends for drinks. Guess who one of those friends were? Doug and I chatted and had a couple drinks that night but then we did not talk for a couple of days. Then I found him on an online game called “Words With Friends”. There is where we began chatting. After a couple weeks he invited me over to his place to watch a football game. It was supposed to be just the football game but we ended up going to dinner and a scary movie. After that night we were inseparable and we made the relationship official November 27, 2013.
It was our two year anniversary, November 2015, and we had planned a trip to Whitefish, Montana. It was absolutely beautiful but also very cold. It had snowed that week. Doug wanted to drive around Glacier National Park and look at all the beauty. After stopping at a couple beautiful areas he made his last stop at a gorgeous lake with a dock. He insisted that we go out and take pictures on the dock. It was going to be freezing but thought it was too beautiful to pass up. We were taking pictures with our selfie stick then all of a sudden Doug grabbed my hand and told me he loved me and out popped a gorgeous diamond ring. He said he wanted us to spend the rest of our lives together and then asked “Will you marry me?” I was shocked! I of course said "YES" and he put the ring on my finger. We held each other for a couple of minutes and then ran back to the car because we were freezing. Best day of our lives.
