Kali and Ryan feel they were destined to meet. They grew up in the same town, lived in the same neighborhood, exercised at the same gym, and prayed at the same temple. Despite many years of never crossing paths, it took a dating app to connect the two. Ryan would often go on evening bike rides after work, unknowingly biking close to Kali’s apartment several days a week, which he felt contributed to the match. Two right swipes later, and the rest is history. Their first date was at a rooftop bar in downtown Fort Lauderdale back in Fall of 2018.
Ryan proposed to Kali near the top of Beaver Creek mountain during the couple’s ski trip to Colorado. They had planned to go skiing in the morning, but Ryan insisted they go snowshoeing instead. He had a trail mapped out and was prepared to be the trail guide. Trekking through snow and wind, they originally got lost but quickly found their way along the “correct” path. A few minutes later, Kali heard music playing in the distance. Suddenly, she was able to make out the words and recognize her favorite country song playing. Now, she was sobbing under her goggles because she knew what was happening. Ryan urged Kali to keep walking so they could get to the main event. In front of them stood a large wooden deck, red letters reading “Marry Me”, rose pedals on the floor and a musician singing Head over Boots by Jon Pardi on the acoustic guitar. Ryan knelt in the snow, got down on one knee and asked Kali the easiest question she ever had to answer. It was absolutely beautiful!
