Like most college sweethearts we met at a dingy house party. Funny enough, most of our wedding party was actually with us on the night we met. The house party we went to was hosted by the Men's Rugby team. Kinley and her girls arrived at the same time as Dominic and his teammates. As usual, the boys had a tough time getting in to the party, so Kinley's MOH, came up with the perfect scheme to convince the Rugby boys guarding the door to let Dom and his friends come in with Kinley and her girls. After the party, the group decided to go back to the dorm rooms for the night where Dominic played ukulele and sang gospel songs with Kinley's bridesmaid Kennedy until midnight. The night wasn't exactly filled with romance but Dom did a great job of interesting Kinley and little did he know she had a few impressive traits of her own. A short 5 years later we got engaged and I'm sure you'll be there to see how the rest goes :)
5 years of college, COVID, and monumental life changes, gave us plenty of obstacles and hard times to navigate together. Very early on, we learned that we shared a fascination for the ocean and during hard nights we would head to Mission Beach and sit on the sand to marvel at the sea and the stars. Quickly, going to the beach and Belmont park became a favorite date night option for us. During a routine beach date, we were walking through Belmont park getting some ice cream and cotton candy before we headed to the sand. At one point we stopped to stare at the ocean and Kinley decided it was a good time for her to start eating her cotton candy. Dom seized the moment to get down on one knee. Quickly, Kinley looked at him and with a mouth full of cotton candy and tears streaming down her face. She said yes, and we were officially engaged. We've come so far and we're so excited for this season we're entering into. We are so blessed to have you in our lives and we can't wait to celebrate. See you in February!
