Dan and Ashley were both transfers to Cornell and assigned to the same dorm Baker Tower. Ashley who was trying to meet people left her door open the first evening, much to her roommates' dismay. It didn't take long for the first visitors to show up...enter Dan and a friend. After a bit of talking Ashley thought this flat brim hat wearing, football fanatic was a nice guy and when he asked, she gave him her number. It didn't take long for Dan to reach out. After a Fall filled with post practice Westside dinners, Sprint football games and some fun nights at the Fiji annex it was the start of their forever.

Sprint Football Alumni Weekend was no different than every other year since graduation; Dan was going to go play in the game. Ashley planned on joining since she could catch up with one of her best friends and then watch the alumni game. Ashley was to meet Devin at her home, head to brunch, and then meet Dan later at the game. They left for brunch and Devin said she had to stop at the Cornell plantations for something. Ashley found Dan standing at the Houston Pond dock, with his friend Brad on guitar. Ashley continued alone across the pond where Dan serenaded her, singing a few songs from over the years that captured their love story.
