Antigua, Guatemala is a small city and is easily accessible via walking. Most of the streets are cobblestoned and we recommend packing a pair of comfortable walking shoes.
We will provide a shuttle for you. Please be sure to reach out to one of us with your flight info and update us if anything changes.
Good walking shoes (Antigua has mostly cobblestone streets which can be tough on feet) Clothes for spring weather (pants, a light jacket, etc) Your passport!
We would not recommend that you rent a car. When you RSVP, we will ask for your flight information so that we can coordinate a driving service to take you and any other guests arriving at that time to Antigua. If your flight information has changed, please let us know :) While in Antigua, you can utilize Uber or TukTuks. (If you have a tuktuk driver you like, ask them for their WhatsApp number and you can organize rides with them)
Yes! We want to reassure our guests that Antigua, Guatemala is a safe destination. We know you will love Antigua as much as we do. We would never ask family and friends to travel somewhere unsafe. We recommend taking precautions similar to those you would take during any international trip.
Guatemala is called the land of the eternal spring, meaning there's good weather most of the year. March is an excellent weather month to visit Guatemala, the climate is comfortable and the temperature normally varies between 60 to 80 degrees. There's a chance it could rain so an umbrella is never a bad idea!
We recommend withdrawing quetzales (the Guatemalan currency) at ATMs are available in most of the hotels or all over Antigua. Credit cards are accepted in hotels and restaurants. The exchange rate may vary by the time of our wedding but is approximately: Quetzal (Q) Q7.85 = US$1
Hotels and most restaurants will have Eco Filtered water which is safe for drinking. Whenever in doubt, ask if the water is filtered, or grab a water bottle. Make sure to reuse water bottles and feel comfortable filling it up at any water station labeled with Eco Filter.
Nope! Guatemala uses the same sockets as those found in the United States.
