How We Met

There are two sides to every story...

Diamond's Side: In college, I worked at Scorz bartending and serving. One night over Christmas break my senior year, a group of guys came in. They were all about my age and there were 5 or 6 of them. I feel like I remember all of them except for Garrett hahaha. They ordered some beers and played darts and pool for a while. I think they came in a few times over that break... Not long after, we connect on social media and one of the first things he asked was if I worked at Scorz. Naturally, I thought he was a creeper but I said yes to going on a date with him. Although it took a few tries to actually find a time that worked for us, we went on our first date at Fuel in Mount Vernon and got coffee and then got ice cream at DQ. On our second date, we went to dinner and then he played a game of Catan with my roommates and I. He got to see how competitive I was.. I didn't think I would be getting a third date after that. I specifically said that to my roommates after he left and I had told him he was awkward. Then ten minutes later, he asked if "it was too early to ask for a third date." It was super sweet and I wasn't expecting to fall so hard for this nice guy. And now, here we are... almost 6 years later. Garrett's side: The first time meeting Diamond was at Scorz in Mount Vernon. She was bartending that night and seemed pretty irritated that some of us decided to come in to have a drink when she was getting ready to close. We ended up messaging a few days later. Our first date we went to Fuel and talked. She brought up how many kids she wanted on the first date so found out then that she is very straight to the point. Our second date we went to El Sol and ended up gong back to her dorm to play board games. There was no warning before that moment that an ambush awaited. She got really competitive and ended up winning every game we played that night. She really does not like losing even if it's just playing a game of cards for bragging rights. She ended the night calling me awkward and the rest is history.
