We’re Getting Married!!!

The Beginning of Our Story..

It started off like many relationship these days, on a good ole dating app- Hinge to be exact; And boy, was Devyn glad they were a match! Jordan quickly took Devyn by surprise with their endless conversations about who they were and what they wanted for their futures. After about a week, Jordan finally asked Devyn on a date. Although the feeling of being pursued was new for Devyn, she agreed to go. But to her surprise, she enjoyed every moment of it. On their first date, Jordan planned a night of surprises. First they stopped at the Player 1 Bar, where Jordan kicked Devyn’s butt in every game they played. Next, they went for a helicopter ride over the glowing Las Vegas strip, where they shared their first kiss as a couple, one thousand feet in the air. That moment felt like a dream for them both and from that night on, they were inseparable. A month later, they made their relationship official after a wild Cinco de Mayo night. Another month later, Jordan moved in with Devyn and her cat, Oakley. They soon adopted another cat named Gemma and became a family of four. They spent the next year going on trips across the country, from Hawaii to New York City! The memories they made are endless and it has been the best year of their lives.

In May of 2022, Jordan told Devyn they were going on a surprise vacation. A week before they left, she told her they were going to Devyn’s favorite island in Hawaii, Kauai. Devyn was excited, since they did not visit there together previously. A couple of days into their vacation, they took in the breathtaking views of the island from above in a helicopter- see what Jordan did there? The ride ended at Devyn’s favorite beach, where she was presented with rose petals near the ocean and a banner that read, “Will You Marry Me?” Additionally, she was surprised by both of their families and a few of her best friends, along with the others watching over FaceTime. Nothing has made Devyn feel more special or more full of emotion and love than the moment Jordan got down on her knees to propose. Months before their trip to Hawaii, Devyn had been planning to also propose! Three weeks after returning home from the island, Devyn took Jordan to Lake Tahoe to do some mid-summer snowboarding. She wanted to propose to Jordan at the top of the mountain with the lake as her backdrop. The weather was perfect and the scenery was beautiful as Devyn knelt down on one knee and asked Jordan to (also) marry her. Devyn could not believe that she was going to spend the rest of her days married to best friend and love of her life. They simultaneously screamed from the mountaintop in excitement to both finally have rings on their fingers, after wanting this for so long. Together, they have shown one another the definitions of true love and soulmate.

Today, they own a house together and live there with Oakley, Gemma, and their newest family member, Lily-Mae, (a miniature Australian Shepherd). They are enjoying wedding planning and talking about what their future will look like. Devyn and Jordan are excited to celebrate their love with their family and friends on Cinco de Mayo 2024 and could not think of a better way to celebrate their two year anniversary than surrounded by so much love!
