Michael & Devin met briefly the Summer of 2018. The following Summer, Devin was leading a share house on Fire Island when Maid-of-Honor, Alex Mattson, asked if there was a room available for her and her best friend, Michael. That Summer, the bride and groom lived together as friends, neither expecting where the future would bring them. By the Summer of 2020, the two were smitten! Michael spent much of his Covid Summer visiting Devin at the Schooner Inn while she worked and inviting her continuously to hangout with him in Long Beach. After several weeks, she finally said yes! The two have been inseparable since Fall of 2020 and even enjoyed their first Disney vacation together… with Alex joining of course. By December 2020, little baby Lunchbox joined the crew and got to know his daddy and mommy. And after 2 years of waiting and heckling, Michael finally said “move in! I don’t care.” So, Lunch and Devin packed everything they owned into her Chevy Trailblazer and jetted over to Long Beach in July of 2022. After a total room makeover, asserting herself into every aspect of his belongings, and two toy box locations for Lunch, the little family of three was all settled in at Nabz. After a year of living together, Michael and Devin set big plans of buying the home of their dreams and moved to West Islip in the interim. One cloudy morning in October, Michael was outside with Lunchy pretending to “fish” in the canal when he yelled to Devin, “DEV, get out here! The baby ducks are swimming in the canal!” Dropping everything she was doing, she shuffled outside to see the ducks and instead found Bug getting on one knee and giggling while he said “wait, wait, will you marry me?” As she was plowing full steam ahead at him to look for the ducks. He revealed the most stunning ring ever. She said yes, and Lunchy was so excited not to be a bast*rd anymore. Two weeks later, the two married in a private ceremony overlooking the Robert Moses bridge. A beautiful and intimate ceremony to include all the grandparents who won’t be able to make the 4+ hour drive to Vermont in 2025. Devin’s dad and Michael’s grandmother signed witness to this union presented by local minister, Nick Campasano. Just four short weeks later, the two discovered little Scarlette Lee would be joining their crew and the rest is history. Devin, Michael, and Scarlette are so excited to share their vow renewal at their wedding in October 2025 in West Dover, Vermont. A location that helped flourish so much of their love story.
