My older brother Jeff has always said that watching Disney movies when I was younger ruined me because of their over-romanticized story lines of prince meets princess. Well I'm happy to report that Devin proved Jeff wrong because meeting and falling in love with him has been a whole Hallmark story. Better than any Disney movie. Devin and I met by chance, as we worked in the same office park in Columbia, MD. We locked eyes for the first time the day after I wrote in my journal "I'm ready for my husband to come find me." When I saw Devin, I immediately thought that he was handsome and EXACTLY my type. It was only a brief moment that we saw each other and I soon forgot about the encounter all together. Two weeks later, I was finishing up with work on a Friday evening chatting with a client on the phone about his upcoming closing on a home loan. A guy appeared outside of my office door, when I noticed him I wondered why he was politely waiting for me to get off the phone. "Does he have a package for me? No it's kind of late for a package to be delivered" I thought. A good 5 minutes or so went by before I got off the phone. I turned around to the guy to smile and say "hi"... something about him seemed familiar. He introduced himself as Devin and reminded me that we had seen each other two weeks before. He told me he wanted to get to know me, even if it was just us going for a walk outside of our office park. I was immediately impressed by him and his boldness to just walk up into my office and ask me out. I asked for his number first, and texted him when I got home from work. The following Friday, we went for a walk around Lake Kittamaqundi and we had the best time. It was refreshing to learn that we agreed on so many of my core values. I knew from that first walk that Devin was special. As we continued to get to know one another it was apparent that God designed this man specifically for me. His heart is pure light. I could not be more excited to be his Mrs. Minnis!

It is amazing how AWESOME God is! If you would've told me a year ago that I'd be writing my version of our love story, I would've said that you have me confused with someone else. On Aug. 7th, 2020 I decided to change my lunch location. Instead of eating in my car, I went to the office park courtyard. On the way out the double doors, I locked eyes with Aimee for a short moment. Not being able to get her out my mind, I ate lunch at the same spot, everyday from then on, hoping that she would look outside of her office window into the courtyard to lock eyes again. Well, she never took the time to look my way lol! Ok, since she didn't take the bait, time to do Plan B, which was to siege and ambush! So after two weeks of no 'look-back' from her, on Friday, Aug. 21st 2020 I was walking to my car after work. God spoke to me and said "Hey, you just got a haircut, its Friday, you've been working out, time to find her!" I turned around and headed for those double doors! I didn't care that it was a pandemic, if they had security, if she was dating someone, etc. I was going to introduce myself no matter what. I pushed the doors open and searched every office until I found Aimee. My first thought when I saw her was "Oh my gosh she's so exotic looking, I just know she's taken". When she got off the phone I introduced myself, said a corny joke and asked her if she would be willing to go on a walk sometime. She agreed and took my number down. On that walk we found that we had the same foundational beliefs and several things in common. Several weeks later we decided to date. Most of all we wanted to make sure to keep Jesus Christ our foundation. Aimee and I decided to have a Christian Intentional Courtship Experience, which was the best decision we could've made. I am the luckiest man alive to be in love with Aimee. She is absolute pure light. She is SO loving, inspiring, caring, focused, non-pretentious, and is the most gorgeous woman I know. I cant wait to marry her!
