Devan was on a family vacation to South Dakota to celebrate her sister Vanessa's high school graduation when Vanessa opted for a spelunking adventure at Rushmore Cave. On the day of their tour, Devan and Vanessa walked in for their adventure, and guess who was waiting on the other side as their guide? Enter Ethan. Ethan was charming as he led the tour and threw in a little something extra at the end - his phone number - to the oblivious Devan. After that, they kept in touch, until finally deciding to take a chance on each other, which led to the happiness they know now.

Devan had mentioned she was going to Scotland for a quick 5-day adventure to Ethan, who explained that he was attending a "Free Willy" rally at Loch Ness, so he was likely going to run into her. When Ethan arrived in Scotland, the group was forced to disperse, because Willy was not in the Loch Ness, and the real inhabitant, Nessie, was far too terrifying to try to save, so they fled. On his way running through the town, he spotted Devan, who was excited about his compassion for animals, so she invited him to go to Edinburgh with her. JUST KIDDING - Nope, so Ethan and Devan went to Scotland for the equivalent of their second date, but by that time Ethan already knew that Dev was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. After booking a tour of Loch Ness on the catamaran named the Jacobite Warrior, they climbed aboard, and Ethan shouted above the waves that special question. Devan immediately said yes, and they still count it as one of the happiest moments of their lives. Except Ethan remarked whilst writing this that he was cold, and hungry, and so it was not the happiest moment of HIS life. But that's what happens when Ethan tries to tell jokes while Devan is writing - they end up published on the web. The person who was writing this has been sacked.
