Deserae went out with a few friends two weeks before leaving for her next nursing contract in Dallas. Jake was there with one of his friends, who Deserae knew in college. We spent the night playing pool, volleyball, and talking about everything. From that moment on, we were inseparable. We spent every day together doing different date nights. Even though Desi knew she was leaving for Dallas, we knew we had something special that neither time nor distance could keep us apart.

We went on a trip to Tampa, Florida. We went for a walk on the beach in Clearwater. We were dressed up and wanted pictures before jumping into the ocean. Jake stopped and asked someone to take our picture. He had the ring in his pocket the entire day.
