Megan and Emily grew up 4 years, apart from one another. Like any classic sibling duo, Megan, the older sibling, would do something and Emily, the youngest, would be right behind her. Emily has always admired Megan for her loving and tenacious spirit. Megan has always been an amazing support system along with her husband Max and Emily's nephew Miles. Emily would have it no other way than to have all three of them standing beside both Derek and her on their special day.
Henry Childs

Henry and Derek met during their sophomore year of college. Derek had been working at Gales Creek Camp and encouraged Henry to apply and join the team. The two of them developed a lifelong friendship at camp where they were known for doing the 'Henry & Liza' skit at the weekly campfire. Sadie McCormick

Sadie and Derek having always been close. Growing up, you could find the two playing catch in the backyard, riding their bikes around the neighborhood or watching a comedy late at night. They spent countless weekends cheering on each other at track meets, softball, and basketball games. They both live in Beaverton and text everyday. Derek considers Sadie to be his best friend!
Joe McCormick

Derek and Joe met at Gales Creek Camp where Joe met his wife (Derek's sister), Sadie. They travelled to a number of sporting events over the years and one of Derek's fondest memories of Joe is the two of them going to an away playoff game in Louisiana. During the Blazers 2018 playoffs, Joe and Derek went to an away game in New Orleans. They stuck out like sore thumbs as the two of them were heckled by every Pelican fan ranging from 5-year-olds to senior citizens. Derek and Joe enjoy spending time with their families and being outdoors on the Oregon Coast. They also enjoyed playing video games together.
Maddy Thompson

Maddy and Emily did not always see eye to eye. But it's okay because they can laugh about it now. Being cousins who are 2 months apart, growing up together can be quite competitive. Now, Emily can easily say she could not live without Maddy. Maddy has brought so much fun and lightness to life while offering so much loyalty and wisdom to her life.
Max Monty

Max or "Bro" in Emily's phone, has played a significant role in Emily's life since becoming a part of our family. We joke that Max is the perfect fit for our family as he is a natural peacemaker. From the moment, he stepped into our family Max always encouraged my sister and I's relationship to grow and become what it is today. His easygoing spirt makes him able to get along with anyone and a great go to person for life advice. Max is very excited for us to make this next step as he can now have another guy in the family.
Mina Mehdi

Mina and Emily began working at Nike on the same day back in 2018. Since that moment, they became fast friends and nearly inseparable. After time on the team, Emily moved to another organization within Nike. Just a few months later, Mina was able to join the same organization and the dynamic duo was together again. Mina has been a consistent friend since meeting her just a few years back. She is dependable, goofy, passionate and will always be your number one encourager. She will also continue to hold you accountable and has had a huge hand in pushing Emily to who she is today.
Dustin Franta

Dustin and Derek quickly became friends while working the 6am - 3pm shift with Nike's Customer Service team in 2014. Dustin, who is a coffee connoisseur, was amazed that Derek never drank coffee during his early morning shifts. Derek moved into Dustin's North Portland house in 2015 with Dustin's now wife, Gina. Derek, Gina and Dustin traveled to a number of marathon and ultra-marathons events over the years.
