Maid of Honor
Emily is Aimee's longest friend. They and their families grew up together from the time they were in diapers. From ice cream trips to Treadwell's on their scooters to jumping competitions at the lake house, they spent every spare second together. Even when Aimee moved away in middle school, they kept in contact through phone calls and, eventually, social media. When they do get back together during the holidays, they pour a glass of wine and gab away like nothing has changed. Aimee could never imagine anyone more perfect to stand right next to her for such an important life event.
Best Man
Tom and Derek first met in middle school, where they both played the saxophone in band. Their friendship grew from there, as they tackled high school classes, Marching Band, and other experiences together. Even after high school, their friendship continued, deepend by their common faith in Christ, love of movies and superheroes, and passion for board games. Tom is Derek's closest friend, and he is honored that Tom will be standing by his side on this big day.
Matron of Honor
Ashlee is the older sister of the bride, and her partner in crime. They are always either driving each other up a wall, or working together to drive their parents up a wall. Aimee also cannot remember a time that Ashlee did not keep it real with her, whether she wanted it or not. While some siblings may feel obligated to include family in the wedding, Aimee is honored to have her sister there to enjoy this beautiful moment together.
Groomsman
Eric and Derek's friendship started when Eric was a young volunteer with NPC's Middle School Ministry, and Derek was a middle school student. Long after Derek left the middle school youth group, however, Eric remained Derek's close friend. They maintained their bond through the years, rooted in a mutual love of Christ, an enjoyment of music, and a passion for good food. Derek is overjoyed that Eric will be standing up with him on his wedding day!
Bridesmaid
Julia and Aimee first met while working at summer camp as two simple kids in high school. It was there that they grew together and became as close as two can without being actual sisters. It is important to note that Aimee's father, Tomm, has often referred to Julia as his third daughter due to their friendship. Aimee recently was honored to be a bridesmaid in Julia's wedding, and she is delighted to have Julia in hers very soon!
Groomsman
Derek and Ryan's friendship started in college, when they were floormates on Nesbitt's first floor. They quickly became friends, enjoying long conversations about movies, tv shows, and superheroes. Their friendship continued throughout college, where they were eventually roommates during Derek's last semester. They both returned home after school, but stayed close friends, so when it came time for them to move out and get their own place, they became roommates again! Derek is honored to have the man with whom he has shared so many other experiences be standing by his side on his big day.
Bridesmaid
Megan is Derek's younger sister, but Aimee is excited to soon call her sister as well. They have bonded over their love for Harry Potter and laughing at Derek's expense. Aimee says that she could not have picked out a more perfect match of a sister-in-law if she had tried, and feels blessed to have Megan stand by her side as they become family.
Groomsman
Brandon and Derek have known each other since middle school, where they attended the same church and shared a close group of friends. Brandon and Derek have shared a love of board games, great entertainment, and thoughtful discussions of history and politics for many years. They've traveled together into the wilderness of Canada and the craziness of board game conventions. Their friendship is now one of Derek's very oldest. Derek is honored to have Brandon stand by his side on his big day.
Officiant
Matt and Derek also met in college, where they were floormates (and next door neighbors) on Nesbitt's first floor. They became friends as they took Communications class together, hung out for not-very-late nights, and eventually became work-out partners - swimming, running, and weightlifting together every day. Suffice it to say, Matt is one of Derek's closest friends and has known both Derek and Aimee through the entire time that they've known each other! So it isn't surprising that Matt, a pastor in the Church of the Nazarene, was their first pick to officiate their wedding. Both Derek and Aimee are honored and excited to have someone they both know and love play this important role in their big day.
Master of Ceremonies
Andy and Derek became roommates their freshman year by chance, but they became fast friends. Equally unplanned, Andy and Aimee were classmates in Olivet's Freshman Connections class, but quickly began hanging out outside of class. Both Derek and Aimee would continue their friendship with Andy through the rest of college and beyond. Aimee and Derek are both honored and excited that Andy has agreed to take this unique role in their wedding - one that is perfectly suited to his personality and his place in their lives.
