Michael and I met on a dating app. Michael made the first move on February 21st 2022. He sent me a simple flirt! He was so adorable, and gave so many original & sweet compliments. After a cheesy pickup line from him we decided to exchange numbers. After few weeks of talking, we set up our first date to meet in person. Michael and I lived about an 10 hours from each other. We met on in person on March 25,2022, and have been stuck like Chuck ever since! On my flight to Raleigh I was extremely nervous, thinking I’m beyond crazy and huge daredevil. My family was checking in every 5 minutes to see if I was “Okay”. Once I got off the plane to head to meet Michael for the first time, all kind of feelings over came me. Like what if he’s doesn’t like me, what if I don’t like him, etc. Once I finally saw him (he was dressed in a green tshirt, and some black printed sweatpants), my first thought was holyyyy crap he’s tall, and boyyyy is he handsomeeee. Michael gave me a huge hug and took my suitcase and loaded into the SUV. I can’t lie I was in paradise. I told him I was going to take a nap, at first I was faking being asleep, but then I really fell asleep. I knew he truly had to like me because once we arrived to our destination he had slobber all over his arm! That was definitely the start to our love story. Fast forward to a year later and so many memories created together in a year timeframe. The day of the proposal Michael was acting weird allllll day. He was just nervous, red, and sweating a lot more than usual. He told me we needed to leave the house no later than 7pm. First clue something was going on because him of all people was not ready to leave by the time he had given me. On the car ride their he was talking about the most strange things, in my head I’m thinking baby please be quiet cause my stomach is touching my back. I’m about to die and my baby was trying to have conversations by going down memory lane. We then arrived to “The Pit” the place we had our first date. He can be sooo romantic. Once we got seated Michael was biting his fingernails and EXTREMELY red. He was deep in thought and nervous about something. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but In that moment I was too hungry to dig. Lol. Finally our food come and we ate. Michael then started to tell me how much he appreciates me and all the things I do. Next thing I know he’s getting out of the booth and gets on a knee. So manyyyy emotions was going through me, but I have to say it was the easiest yes I’ve ever stated. I honestly couldn’t wait for that day. I’m still in shock that Michael chooses me daily, and not only me but our kids also. I’m so excited to be engaged to the most hardworking, dedicated, humble man ever…
How we met: I saw Deonna’s profile and sent her a message. I was surprised she responded as I was sure she was off the market. From our first correspondence, we had so many things in common. Our conversations felt like those of two long lost lovers rather than two people getting to know each other. She truly enchanted my mind with visions of the incredible life we could have together. We set a date to meet in person and when I finally embraced Deonna in my arms for the first time, it was more amazing that I dreamed it would be. I still remember that car ride, she was tired from traveling and she laid her head on my shoulders and drifted off to sleep. I kept stealing glances of Deonna thinking, ‘She’s the one that is gonna make me believe in love again’. The night I proposed: I was nervous all day as I suck at keeping secrets. I damn near blew the surprise that I was gonna propose. Picking the ring was tough, as there is no object in the universe that can equal or appropriately represent what Deonna is in my eyes. On the drive to the restaurant, I was debating when to pop the question. Deonna made that decision for me though when she said, ‘I’m really hungry’ so I told myself let’s wait till after the meal. Truthfully picking the Restaurant was the easiest decision in the process. It was the same place that we went on our first official date as a couple We finished our meal and it was time. I was so nervous as I knew that Deonna wanted a proper proposal, so I was hoping I was doing it correctly. I didn’t have a hesitation to want to get on a knee for this woman. Seeing the tears of joy roll down her cheek told me I had done right. I have had many great moments in my life, but hearing the ‘Yes’ from her easily made it tied for the best moment in my life (tied with the birth of our son)
