We met through mutual friends during our freshman year of college. He was always the caring and charming type to help a girl like me get through some of life's biggest struggles. We started as close friends and soon ended up falling in love with each other. We agree that we are quite different people, him being an engineer and I an artist, but we share the same life goals and future plans.
I was a junior, finishing the very last final of the year that Saturday morning. The only thing I had on my mind was completing the school year. He had made reservations for dinner that night at the Le Mont in Pittsburgh to "celebrate the end of a school year and towards our senior year together." Our table's view over Mount Washington was perfect. After an amazing dinner and a whole bottle of wine, he said he had a gift for me; a beautiful, framed, hand-painted portrait of myself. I was in awe since I have such a strong love for art. He asked what I had thought of it, meanwhile I go to realize the painting had displayed a flashy diamond on my ring finger. As I noticed the ring and mentally put this all together, he said my name as he got down on one knee. I held my chest as I began to cry. I couldn't believe this was real. There were no thoughts other than YES! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
