Although we do love all of your little ones, we hope you will understand our decision to make the wedding children-free.
Under current Italian guidance effective from January 10, 2022 through March 31, 2022 everyone needs to be fully vaccinated in order to attend weddings (Italy's Super Green Pass). Things might change after March 31st, but we don't know what that looks like. If this impacts you, please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions. For more information on the Super Green Pass, check out this website - https://italygreenpass.com/new-decree-on-super-green-pass-restrictions/
For vaccinated individuals, COVID testing prior to entry into Italy is currently required. We recommend keeping an eye on the website for the U.S. Embassy in Italy for any updates: https://it.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/ All travellers entering Italy from any foreign location are required to fill out the EU Digital Passenger Locator Form - link here: https://app.euplf.eu/#/ We will send more information the closer we get to the wedding date so all guests are clear on the requirements!
1.) Florence - drive (1hr 20 min) 2.) Rome - drive (2hr 30min), train to Arezzo (between 1hr - 2.5hrs depending on type) 3.) Pisa - drive (2hr 15 min), train to Arezzo (3hr 15 min)
Arezzo is the closest train station to Borgo Corsignano, about 45min drive away. You can either rent a car from Arezzo or organize a private car.
Check in will be from 12pm - we look forward to seeing you then!
We do suggest renting a car as it's the easiest (and cheapest) way to get around (the venue is located about 10 minutes from the nearest town)!. Taxis from both Florence airport and Arezzo will be fairly expensive so we do recommend sharing if you are not comfortable driving in Italy. Note: please do abide by the speed limit and make sure you look out for any signs requiring permits to drive in the city center! There are lots of street cameras.
You can travel from Rome to Arezzo in as little as one hour when you take a high-speed Frecciarossa train from Trenitalia. See website here: https://www.thetrainline.com/en/train-companies/frecciarossa There are also non-highspeed direct train options which will take 2.5 hours. Ticket options can be found here: https://www.thetrainline.com/en-us/train-times/rome-to-arezzo We definitely recommend booking in advance to get the best price!
Yes - you just have to plan in advance! We recommend purchasing an international plan with your cell provider in the US - normally costs ~$10 per day.
In order to re-enter the US, you will need a negative covid test (either antigen or PCR) taken one calendar day before your flight. We would recommend purchasing a test before you leave the US and bringing it with you so you don't have to worry about finding a clinic in Italy. We recommend Abbott’s BinaxNOW home tests which allows you to log on to an online portal and do the test in front of a proctor - they will then email you the results. You can buy these from CVS or Walgreens (or a 6-pack from eMed directly). Another similar option is available via a website called Rapid Test & Trace where you can use any FDA-approved test (they have a bunch of options available to purchase directly through their website) & then just pay $20 for the observed session. If you forget to do this, there is also a pharmacy in Poppi that offers tests - FARMACIA DR.SSA MAZZEO CICCHETTI GIULIANA. If you are traveling onwards after the wedding and need a test, we recommend looking up Synlab clinics located around Italy (they have a website where you can book an appointment directly).
We have opted to plan an outdoor wedding. Weather permitting, most events over the three days including the welcome event, ceremony, aperitif, reception, and brunch will be outdoors. The only event that will be indoors is the dancing. Rest assured our venue is a sprawling property with plenty of space to move around!
While it’s not a requirement, we completely understand and respect any guests who may wish to wear a mask during the events. Please note that we won’t be supplying masks at the venue, so you will need to provide your own.
For women, we recommend a very thick heel or espadrille/wedge for footwear for all events (the ceremony will be on grass). It might get cold in the evenings! We will be in the hills so it could get chilly at night. Dinner will be outside + dancing will be inside - we recommend bringing a light jacket or shawl to be safe.
