Jordan and I met on a dating app, where he kicked things off with a refreshingly simple, “I like your pictures,” followed by a request for my number. Honestly, I was bracing for a cheesy pickup line, but his straightforwardness had me intrigued. We quickly set up a date for drinks in DC. As we settled into a cozy tiki bar, I realized Jordan wasn't making much eye contact with me. I couldn’t shake the feeling that he might be secretly wishing he was somewhere else. Just as I started to worry that I was bombing the date, we discovered our shared love for golf, the Dallas Cowboys, and family. Then, in a delightful twist, we realized we’d both be in Mexico at the same time that summer! Suddenly, the conversation got a lot better—like realizing this wasn't the nightmare I thought it'd be, and had me hopeful for a second date. On the drive home, Jordan casually mentioned that he could sing in Spanish. I thought he was joking—until he broke into a spontaneous serenade, belting out a Spanish song like he was on stage. I couldn't help but laugh and swoon all at once, and from that moment, I knew I was completely hooked. Our meeting story may not have been straight out of a movie, but every moment since has been filled with joy, laughter, and unexpected adventures. From cozy sushi dates to unprompted trips, our relationship has blossomed into a beautiful journey that I cherish more and more every day.
