In January 2018, Dena moved back to her home state of Indiana from Florida, where she had worked at the University of Florida for eight years. At that same time, Ned was single and living in Indianapolis, Dena bought a home about 5 minutes from where Ned lived. Also in January, Ned adopted Boone, his golden retriever and pledged that he was going to take the year off of dating. Only two months later, Ned reluctantly opened his Bumble dating app and swiped right on a cute woman who also had a golden retriever. Thankfully, Dena thought Ned was cute too and swiped right as well. As is the case with the Bumble dating app, women have to make the first move and Dena's pickup line was: "is that your dog?" "Yes," Ned replied, "would you like to meet him?" We went on our first date on March 20, 2018. After the date ended, Ned called his mother as he was walking to his car and told her that he thought he had met the one. Hilariously, Dena then drove by and wondered who Ned was talking to. Our next date was only a few days later. We went on three dates in the first week and haven't looked back since, not even once. Since then, we've shared a love for travel, boating, golden retrievers, and skiing (water and snow). We've already traveled to Jamaica, Lake Cumberland, Maine (twice), San Francisco and Napa, Lake Tahoe (to snow ski), Las Vegas, Zion National Park, and Vietnam for two weeks. It was during their two week trip to Vietnam that Ned proposed to Dena. Ned proposed in one of the most beautiful places they've ever visited: Ha Long Bay, where Ned and Dena went on an overnight cruise. We are excited for what is to come and we are even more excited to share our wedding day with all of you! Thank you for coming to our destination wedding. We hope to share our love of traveling and adventure with you and hope that you love the Lake Tahoe area as much as we do.
