We both grew up in a town called Pendleton, Indiana, where we saw each other often though-out school. Even though we had lockers next to each other since eighth grade, it wasn't until the summer before our senior year in high school that we spent much time together with the help of our close friend Briz. The three of us spent the summer hanging out and it wasn't too long before Briz pointed out the feelings Brian and I had for each other. As the start of our senior year began, Brian and I spent a tremendous amount of time together in and out of school. Throughout that year, our relationship grew stronger but we were unsure of our future knowing that we would be attending different colleges. Our love was put to the test when Brian decided to attend school and play soccer in England. Thankfully, we had Skype that made it possible to see and talk with each other from so far away. After two years of making a looong distance relationship work, Delilah and I were able to live closer again when I decided to come back and finish my education in Ohio. We were both still very busy with school and our sports but we were able to spend more time together on special weekends and holidays. By this time I was sure that she was the girl I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and I started saving for The Ring.
It wasn't until last summer that I was ready to put my plans into action. With the help of my future sister and brother-in-law (Danielle and Will) we were able to set up a vacation in Kentucky where we would be staying in a cabin and hiking the trails. That Saturday, we woke up and went hiking to a waterfall we had scouted out ahead of time online. We had to cross through a stream with super slick rocks to get to the falls but it was well worth the risk. No one was at the base of the falls when we got there and Delilah and I went ahead as Danielle and Will stayed back. It was there that I took her hands, dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry me.
