We're getting married!

Our story began when we both swiped right on a dating app. We talked on the phone and made plans to have our first date over tacos and margaritas on Cinco de Mayo. We both noticed how effortless it was to talk to each other as our first date flew by. Neither of us wanted the date to end that night. We're lucky that 4 years later, we both feel like our time together is just as effortless, adventurous, and loving as those first couple of weeks when we met.

Dustin's Story: I was determined to surprise Deepa with a proposal, despite this being incredibly difficult! I selected April 11 as the proposal date after learning from Deepa's parents that it was both an auspicious date and my late mother-in-law's birthday - I knew that Deepa would want her mom to be a part of the moment. When Deepa made plans to attend a conference in San Diego on April 11, I scrambled to still make the proposal happen... Deepa's Story: Dustin decided to join me in San Diego for a conference, which didn't strike me as odd since he had come with before. Dustin mentioned his friend Nick Holman would be in town and asked if I could keep the first night of the conference free to hang out with Nick, as it was Nick's only night available (lies!). I told Dustin not to plan around me and that my focus was the conference. Unrelenting, Dustin called and texted about 30 times that first night to get my attention and to make sure I'd come out after the conference had wrapped. When I least expected it, it was Dustin and me (and Nick) surrounded by water and beautiful lights, and Dustin was down on one knee. I was surprised, so happy, and I said yes! We are so excited to celebrate our love and commitment with our friends and family! See you soon in Camarillo!
