The Wedding Website of Debbie Magnani and Paul Creighton
Getting to Yelapa is a 3 step process... AIR Fly into Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) in Puerto Vallarta. This airport is popular so allow time to get through customs. We recommend arriving in PVR before 3pm to ensure you catch the last water taxi to Yelapa. LAND Upon exiting the airport catch either a taxi ($30), or walk across the bridge for an Uber ($15), to Pier de los Muertos. Expect to pay double if going to Boca de Tomatlan. SEA Purchase a water taxi ticket to Yelapa from any vendor on Pier de los Muertos, or the restaurant Embarcadero on the pier in Boca de Tomatlan. You do not need to book in advance but you can. Get in line before departure, you'll be assisted onto the boat. *For later arrivals, a private water taxi can be arranged through MiraMar for a fee. Alternatively, you can spend a fun night in Puerta Vallarta and head to Yelapa the next morning. Water taxi schedule & fees (in pesos): www.go2yelapa.com/eng/transport.html#taxis

Alternatives & Considerations

Below are alternative hotel recommendations provided by our host at Miramar. If looking into hotels not listed here, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying on the 'Playita' side of the Yelapa Bay (same side as MiraMar). Yelapa is separated by a river and while easy to cross by foot at low tide, you'll have to walk a distance up river to cross a bridge or take a boat across during higher tide (if trying to get to/from MiraMar). Another factor to consider is if you prefer a more lively location central to town, or quieter one closer to the 'point' but a 10min walk away. That being said, Yelapa is small and you will never be too far from anything. We enjoy both for different reasons and can certainly help you choose!
