We met through the marching band at SFA, and I went up to Lauryn and complimented her hair, not thinking anything of it. Later on, I found out that she was having a bad day and I made her day by saying she had gorgeous hair. Then, we didn't become close friends until Lauryn joined the percussion fraternity I was in (Phi Boota Roota). After that, we were inseparable. We both didn't think our friendship would ever blossom into a relationship, but one night we were at a party and it just clicked. We went through the talking stage for 4 months (because I wanted to do things the right way with Lauryn), then I finally asked Lauryn to be my girlfriend at the arboretum (her favorite spot on campus) on May 6th, 2020. Going through covid, online classes, snowmageddon, and anything that tried to get in our way, we persevered and we're still standing strong. On March 31, 2021, I proposed to Lauryn in her bedroom in our house when she came home from hanging out with her friends. She didn't know what she was coming home to as I called and told her I had a surprise for her when she got home. I stumbled across my words, shaking and crying, but she still said YES! We started wedding planning in late November of 2021, and have had a strong relationship since then. Even though we started school a year apart, we ended up graduating on the same day, one ceremony apart on December 10th, 2022. On March 31st, we will be celebrating 2 years of being engaged and on May 6th we will be celebrating our 3rd anniversary of dating. We're so excited to be able to have all of our loved ones around us on the biggest day of our lives and to share such a memorable day with both of us. Much love, The future Mrs. Dean-Serrano's
