FAQs

If you have any additional questions please let us know. Our wedding planner would be happy to answer any questions you have regarding the city.
Question

Why Oaxaca?

Answer

The first time we visited was on our first family trip together, right before the pandemic started in Spring of 2020. We instantly fell in love with the history of the city and were in awe of the culinary presence and overall creativity of the Zapotec people. It was like a secret part of Mexico that we just wanted to explore more of. We can’t wait for you to experience this wonderful city.

Question

Covid Testing?

Answer

Please test prior to flying into Mexico (required by airline) our wedding planner can help coordinate any additional testing if you need to test again. The wedding venue is an outdoor space and ample enough for social distance. All staff at our wedding will be masked and there will be sanitation stations throughout. For departure please reach out to your hotel or host for nearest testing location or reach out to us and we'll help.

Question

Are there direct flights to Oaxaca?

Answer

Unfortunately no, but the journey is not bad. Most connecting flights are from Texas or CDMX and a short flight into Oaxaca.

Question

What airport do I fly into Oaxaca?

Answer

All flights to Oaxaca land at Oaxaca Xoxocotlan Airport. The airport code is OAX, and it can also be referred to as Oaxaca International Airport.

Question

Where can i get pesos?

Answer

We recommend you order pesos in advance through your bank for a better exchange rate. Oaxaca is also a credit card friendly city.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Please look at our Travel Page. But in short, make sure you book in Oaxaca Centro and that you are no more than 15 minutes away from our wedding venue. There are tons of hotels in this area.

No. The best way to get around is on foot. Taxis are located at designated stands, called sitios and are inexpensive. Please note that taxis only take pesos no cc.

Answer

Yes please!

Question

Answer

Please don't :) if anything try to get there early and don't risk getting there at 4pm.

Will the wedding take place on a lawn by chance? Deciding what shoes to wear.

Answer

No. Our wedding venue has a mixture of tile and cement flooring.

Question

Will there be non-alcoholic beverages at the wedding other than water?
