Sam and Davon met working as camp counselors at a Boys & Girls Club summer day camp. While she found him loud and over the top, he remained patient and determined. To her surprise, fate had other plans and before they knew it the two were placed working the same schedule. Ten hours a day, five days a week were spent together. Eventually their conversations grew longer and their time spent apart became shorter. Two weeks into the summer the couple spent their first date at the Orange County Fair in Middletown, NY and three months later they said “I love you” outside of their favorite Greek cafe. Over seven years later they’re still saying “I love you”, except now it will be at the alter!
After packing up their lives in upstate New York and making the move to Central Florida, Sam had no idea that Davon had been hiding the ring for nearly eight months before the proposal! Davon had set their first Thanksgiving in Florida as the day to pop the question. After dinner and dessert had been served, her family carried on the tradition of decorating her late grandmother's Christmas tree and that year Sam was given the honor of putting on the final touch. As Sam placed the angel on the top of the tree she turned around to find her future husband on one knee! As the words "Will you marry me?" came from his lips, she wept happy tears and said "YES!".
