It all started back in the summer of 2014. Jon had just graduated from University of Maryland (Go Terps!) and Carly was home for summer before her Senior year at UConn. We met online after both swiping right. While we didn’t meet in person that summer, we stayed in contact; constantly texting back and forth about any and everything (mainly the Jets). After two years of building a friendship, we both admitted to having feelings stronger than friendship. Carly was about to start the second year of her grad school program and Jon was working for the NJ Devils. Neither of us wanted to get in to a distance relationship, but we both knew we had strong feelings for each other. On May 14, 2016 we went miniature golfing in Middletown, CT where we officially became boyfriend/girlfriend. Carly moved to West Haven for work and Jon was in Hoboken. We both became very familiar with the West Haven train station and the route between NYC and CT. Carly eventually moved back to New Jersey and got an apartment in May 2019. As fate would have it, Jon's lease was ending in February of 2020 so we moved in together; in to a 700 square foot apartment. Well, we all know what happened in March 2020. Jon and I went from being 2 hours apart to sharing a tiny apartment 24/7 while working full-time. We decided we liked each other enough that we wanted to buy a house together. In April 2021 we made that dream come true. Little to Carly's knowledge, Jon had a huge surprise in store a year later. On April 14, 2022 Jon proposed at home! Completely caught off guard in the best way, I walked in to our house and saw Jon waiting on the deck with "Carly, Will You Marry Me?" beside him and "Let's Get Married" softly playing. Lot of happy tears and many "Oh my god, what's happening?!" later, we were engaged! Jon truly thought of everything with a photographer there to capture my surprise and our love. On January 19, 2024 we will be getting married at The Hamilton Manor with all of our friends and family; and a Milton cutout! We love you all so much and are so excited to share this special day with you :)
