Barton Springs Municipal Pool
A must visit if the weather permits. Swim in crisp, clear, cold spring water in a swimming pool in downtown Austin. Visit the website for hours and info.
Lady Bird Lake
Lady Bird Lake has lots to do, from many miles of walking paths around it to paddle boarding and kayaking. Take in the Austin skyline from the water! Paddle up to the free-side of Barton Springs! Check out Red Bud Island! There are multiple locations you can rent kayaks and paddleboards.
Barton Creek Greenbelt Trail
Get outside and do some light hiking around the Barton Creek Greenbelt! There are tons of trails that go along water here. Get an early start to avoid crowds and get parking.
Texas Capitol
Take a free tour of the Texas Capitol building and learn some Texas history. Fun fact: Skyla's first job when she moved to Austin was being a Capitol Tour Guide! Tour hours and info at the link.
South Congress
Check out Austin's favorite shopping street - South Congress Ave! Lots of fun things to do on this street. Definitely check out Allen's Boots and Homeslice Pizza while you're there and stop by some of the famous murals for a picture.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema
One of our favorite activities - go see a movie at The Alamo Drafthouse! This is a full service dine-in theater with lots of character. There are multiple locations in Austin but our favorite is at South Lamar.
Blanton Museum of Art
Take in some art while you're in Austin at The Blanton! Make sure to check out the Ellsworth Kelly chapel while you're there.
