We had known about each other through social media, so when we saw each other for the first time in person while Megan was guest leading at a church and David was playing keys, there were shouts of “Whaaa it’s @DavidManuelMusic!” and “Omg its @MeganTibbits!” Megan didn’t know he sang though, so when he started singing she was blown away. She asked him if he wanted to write together and his answer was ‘ehh…maybe!’. After that Sunday, they didn’t see much of each other until about a year later when they found themselves booked as the artist at a bunch of the same shows in a row. They saw each other everywhere, and began singing duets every once in a while (if you watch an old YouTube vid of them singing ‘Cry Me a River’ before they were dating…some might say the love was already in motion). A few months after that, they found themselves on the same gig in San Francisco, where they spent a Sepia-toned few days gallivanting around the city and realizing they already felt like best friends, tho they’d only had a few conversations. They might have kissed then. They might have come back and said ‘should we date’? And they might have said “...nahhhhh.” A few months later, Megan had a show and invited David. He couldn’t come. Bummer. She rode the elevator and had an interesting feeling. The feeling that God was going to give her something that night. All night she looked for it. There was nothing. David texted later that he was sorry he couldn’t come to the show, and that we should meet up halfway at DogHaus for a snack. A snack turned into hours of talking & laughing & playing music. Which turned into talking every day. Which quickly shifted into like. Which slowly grew into love. Which brings us here - to forever. <3
