Rocky Mountain National Park
About an hour west of Loveland is the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park! Reservations and entrance fees (daily pass/ 1 vehicle=$25) are required during the summer, but if you have the time, it's worth it! Some of our favorite hikes are Emerald Lake, Gem Lake, and Alberta Falls. Make sure to pack a lot of water, sunscreen, and light layers. The altitude can be tricky, so watch for altitude sickness if you pick a high elevation hike.
Horsetooth Mountain
West of Fort Collins is Horsetooth Mountain, and Horsetooth Reservoir! Hiking around the reservoir, or hiking to the top of horsetooth mountain are both great hikes! Permits are required, and available for purchase in each trailhead parking lot. Like with Devil's backbone, these hikes will not offer a lot of shade, so start early, bring sunscreen and lots of water...and enjoy!
Devil's Backbone
Located west of Loveland, Colorado. Devil's Backbone has no entrance fee, and a variety of hikes in the foothills of the Rockies. There isn't any shade on this hike, so start early to avoid the intense August heat, and bring sunscreen and plenty of water!
New Belgium Brewing Company
The original New Belgium brewing! They have extended their outdoor seating area, have an extensive tap room, and an awesome tour. Tours can be reserved online, but they book quickly!
Odell Brewing Company
One of Kristin and David's favorite breweries to hang out at! Great outdoor seating area, variety of great beers on tap, food trucks, and sometimes live music! Early 2021, they opened up the OBC wine project, so they now have a winery tasting room right next door!
Loveland Aleworks
Another great Northern Colorado Brewery specializing in small batch brews. Check them out to see what's on rotating tap!
SweetHeart Winery
Located right across from Devil's Backbone, this winery offers wines, ciders, and small appetizers and seating indoors and outdoors.
High Hops Brewery
Great brewery with indoor and outdoor seating in Windsor, CO. Live music, rotating food trucks, and attached to a nursery AND The Heart Distillery, every trip to High Hops is a new adventure.
Pinball Jones
One of David and Kristin's favorite bars! Located underground in Old Town Square, Pinball Jones is an underground barcade with popcorn, alcohol, and all the pinball you can imagine! A great spot to hit after dinner, or while walking around downtown Fort Collins!
The Lyric
A locally owned cinema with multiple unique theatres, bar and restaurant. On summer weekends, they have outdoor live music.
The Waffle Lab Fort Collins
Started as a food truck in 2012, The Waffle Lab now has a brick and mortar location in Downtown Fort Collins! Enjoy a sweet or savory waffle masterpiece with a cocktail, tea, or coffee!
Snooze, an A.M. Eatery
A great breakfast spot in downtown Fort Collins with unique and delicious pancakes.
The Mayor of Old Town
A great restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating in downtown Fort Collins, with over 100 beers on tap!
Avogadro's Number
Live music, bar and restaurant with a lot of vegetarian options on their menu! Avogadro's is a Fort Collins staple, and is close to CSU campus and old town.
Pelican Lakes Resort & Golf
Golf course in Windsor, CO available to members and public players. Schedule your tee time with website link, but be sure to secure your tee time at least 3 days in advance!
