There's a bit of debate between David and I about how our relationship began. We were high school classmates and had some mutual friends, but I'm pretty certain I met David while playing laser tag in the winter of sophomore year. David is insistent it was actually at a review session for our AP US History exam that spring. Regardless, we began dating after going to homecoming together that fall. We attended college together at the University of Michigan and have now spent the last three years in Washington, D.C. We can't wait to see where life takes us next!
In 2020, I was working as a COVID-ICU nurse and David was working from home as we did our best to navigate our new pandemic world. On the Fourth of July, David had planned a trip to the National Arboretum in D.C., which I insisted was closed. Despite my protests, we arrived to a suspiciously empty arboretum that morning. We were taking pictures of the old capitol columns when I looked over to see David down on one knee. The day was a blur after that, but clearly my response was what he had hoped for! We're so excited to celebrate our big day with you. See you in June!
