Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dress for an outdoor wedding! Suggested attire is garden wedding. Garden wedding attire is a semi-formal dress code that's more casual than other formal events. Sundresses, whimsical colors, and lighter color suits or dress pants with no jacket are ok! Ladies should wear footwear that is comfortable on outdoor terrains such as grass, cobblestone, and gravel roads.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will start at 5:30, so please arrive with enough time to be seated by 5:30. You can arrive to the grounds beginning at 4:30 and explore the outdoor spaces!

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Please only bring the guests that were included on your invitation! Our venue limits the capacity to 50 guests and we can't make any exceptions.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is parking on the grounds! The parking lot is about 60 feet from the castle and the walk up is on a gravel driveway, so plan footwear accordingly.

How to get to the venue?

Answer

Use the address 150 Scottish Woods Way, Murphy, NC for the venue. Turn off the main road onto a gravel driveway and follow the wooden signs along the right side of the driveway. There will be a clear sign pointing towards the Castle of Joy. Keep driving through the large gates and you'll soon see the castle come into view! Parking will be marked in a lot on your left. If you feel lost, please call 470-337-3498 and we'll help you find your way.
