We met for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We didn't stop talking the whole time and by the time we were done with our meal, we both were trying to figure out how to extend the date without sounding stalkerish. Luckily, David suggested we might go for a walk on the beach and six hours later our "kinda" first date was over. Our official first date was a lovely dinner and then drinks at the Breaker's in Palm Beach. It was a magical "real" first date and he kissed me for the first time under the Christmas tree at the Breakers. It really couldn't have been more romantic. The rest is as they say...history. We have been together everyday since that historic moment under the tree.
It was a beautiful Christmas morning surrounded by our kids (missing Matt unfortunately) and my mom. We had been opening gifts and enjoying our time together when David pointed out that I missed a gift on the top of the tree. Mind you...I'm only 5' 5" so I had a tough time reaching it! I was opening my gift when I noticed everyone was staring at me. When I finally got it unwrapped and opened it, it was a beautiful ring and the ring box had an LED light shining on it so it sparkled amazingly bright. I was so shocked that I quickly snapped the box closed. David then proposed and asked if I wanted to officially make a family together. He had to remind me to reopen the box and take the ring out. Well I guess you all know I said...YES.
