Despite the initial spark, our first date had to wait until July 10th of that year due to unforeseen circumstances—Amy had returned home to Indianapolis amidst the COVID-19 pandemic to prepare for her Step 1 exam in medical school. Despite the distance, our connection only grew stronger through texts, bonded by our mutual love for sweets and a surprising discovery that we both had childhood ties to the same summer camp.
