About Us

Amanda was born in Utah, lived in Colorado for a number of years, and moved to Arizona with her parents in 2007. She attended the University of Arizona in Tucson and moved to Phoenix in 2015 after graduation. Amanda adopted two cats, Winston and Dixie, when she moved to Phoenix that she and David still have. David has come to love them just as much as Amanda! David was born in Texas and grew up in Houston. He went to college at Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth. After graduating he moved to Phoenix in 2010 to do Teach For America. He moved to Nashville in 2012 and after a few years realized Phoenix was the city he wanted to be in. We are glad he made that decision! David and Amanda love to cook, play trivia games, hike, travel, and always have multiple TV shows they are watching together.

How we met

August 15, 2020

Two people swiped right on Bumble and the rest is history! Given the state of the world in 2020, our first interaction was via video chat. We chatted over a couple glasses of wine and Amanda's two cats decided to poke their heads in a few times. Amanda passed the video interview and moved to round #2. Dinner! We met at a restaurant called Taco Guild. That dinner led to many more dinners, hiking the Grand Canyon rim to rim, vacations, and spending life together.

The Proposal

November 19, 2022

After several years together, it was time to take things to the next level. Amanda told David during their vacation to Spain that "you can go ahead and propose whenever." Given he had blown most of his spare funds on wine and paella, David began saving up for an engagement. Later that year, the time had come. David picked up a ring in Scottsdale and managed to stow it away in his super secret hiding place that Amanda still doesn't know about. He planned to propose at home before a romantic date that included dinner and a comedy show. However, Amanda's nail appointment ran long and they had to run out the door to catch their Uber. The proposal would have to wait. Later that night, as they were packing for their trip to Houston for Thanksgiving, David told Amanda she "forgot to pack something." He dropped to one knee and pulled out the ring and asked Amanda to marry him, completely surprising her. After what seemed like several centuries, she finally said "yes!" We can't wait to celebrate with all of you!
