We swiped right. After matching on Tinder, we exchange a couple of chats. Natalie commented on Darnell's hiking picture and Darnell invited Natalie to a hike. If you know Natalie, you know she doesn't hike. But they found themselves at the Living Room talking about the world and being genuinely surprised you can find someone you connect with so deeply on an app. After making it half way to the hike and Natalie giving up, they decided that maybe a second date was in store.
After 5 blissful days in France, Darnell and Natalie found themselves at the Eiffel Tower. The had a taken a wild Uber, waited in line to see the top, and now were racing the sun to take a picture in front of the tower. They ran across traffic to the park across the way where they looked for anyone who spoke English to take their picture. Natalie saw Americans and ask one stranger to take their picture. Pose 1, pose 2, pose 3...after many poses (at the request of Natalie), the stranger finally asked if there was any other poses. Natalie said no, satisfied, but Darnell said, "yes, one more but with me on the other side." Darnell bend down on one knee with the Eiffel Tower behind them. He pulled out a box, opened it to reveal a diamond ring, and said to Natalie, "You are my best friend, my soul mate, and I would like to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" and Natalie said yes, it was the best Christmas gift she could asked for.
