We went back and forth on what to do with our wedding. Postponing, while maybe the best option, was a little bit too disappointing to do. We still wanted to get married so we weighed our options and decided the best way to do that while keeping our guests safe was to move forward with our ceremony and have the majority of our guests join in virtually. Our guests will notice under RSVP they are invited to a Virtual Ceremony via Zoom. All information will be listed here for guests to login and join us from afar. We would still like for those planning to join to please RSVP so we can account for how many people to expect. Of course we still want to celebrate with our friends and family, and we hope to have a party sometime next year to do just that. While this isn't the wedding we planned or were expecting, we are doing our best to roll with the punches of 2020 and continue to celebrate our love for one another. We appreciate everyone's kind words and help throughout this process and we look forward to seeing everyone once there is some semblance of normalcy in the world. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
We were lucky enough to be introduced by coworkers back when Darcy worked at IHOP and Jeffrey worked at Menchies. Darcy and a few of the other girls from IHOP, including her sister, Daisy, went to Menchies one night to scope Jeff out. The initial meeting didn't go as planned and Jeff actually ended up thinking Daisy was the person he was supposed to meet. No words were spoken in person that night but phone numbers were passed along by our coworkers, and lo and behold, we never talked. Months after the fact, social media came into play and we began steadily Snapchatting each other (thank goodness for cats). Daily, Jeff received probably about 20+ pictures of Darcy's family cat Salem and reciprocated by sending pictures of any of the multiple cats his family owned at the time. In March of 2015 after months of social media build up, Darcy was invited to go to Las Vegas to meet up with her friend and Snapped Jeff saying "You're not down." Turns out he was. The first time hanging out in person, speaking in person, meeting officially...we drove two and a half hours to Las Vegas and stayed the night with friends. As Jeff later told his mom, he knew this was it immediately because there was never a person he could so effortlessly spend time with. Following this initial "date", Jeff began his mission of converting Darcy to an Angels fan and invited her to Opening Day 2015. From that point, we were stuck with each other. Darcy has officially been converted to an Angels fan and Jeffrey has officially been converted to an ABBA fan and there's no turning back now! Though this wedding comes after five and a half years of being together, we were both aware from the very beginning that we had found the person we'd be with forever. Our wedding day is the amalgamation of five and a half years of Angels baseball, cats, ABBA, and love and we couldn't be happier to end our dating story and begin our marriage story in the presence of our friends and family.
