Darby and Julie met their sophomore year while attending school at WSU. Two weeks after meeting and finding every opportunity to spend time with one another, Darby asked Julie to come home with her to Vancouver for her wisdom teeth removal surgery. Julie spent the weekend caring for a very loopy Darby and even had the chance to meet Darby's mom, Brandee, who Julie would eventually be lucky enough to know as her future mother-in-law! From there, the couple fell deeper and deeper in love. They now spend their time outside, hiking, camping, canyoneering, and white water rafting. They love any time they get to spend together and are completely head over heels for one another!

Darby and Julie were planning an annual camping trip to Moab, Utah to close out the summer and prepare to go back to school for their senior year. Darby had no idea what Julie and Darby's sister Kelty were planning. They had just arrived in town and decided they were going to go on a hike through Hidden Valley. When they got to the top where the valley opened up, they saw a peak and decided to climb up it to get a better view. As they all looked around the area and took in all the beautiful scenery they decided it was time for some pictures together. Kelty set up her phone and Julie scouted the area for the perfect proposal spot. They all took some pictures together and then Kelty went off to "go to the bathroom." Julie and Darby stood at the edge of a small cliff and admired the beauty around them. Julie struggled to hide the massive ring box in her pocket while contemplating when to pop the question. Through a nervous jumble of words and involuntary tears, Julie got down on one knee and asked if she could have the honor of spending the rest of her life with Darby, and she said "Are you kidding?" (confirming that Julie was serious) followed by an enthusiastic "Absolutely!"

2019 - Julie and Darby met shortly after returning to WSU for the Spring Semester of their Sophomore Year. - Julie invited Darby to an art gallery under the guise of an extra credit assignment. She endearingly considered this their first date. - On April 18th Julie set up a picnic at the University of Idaho Arboretum where she asked Darby to be her girlfriend. - Darby left and went to work in Utah for the summer and then in Florida for the Disney College Program. They were long-distance for these 8 months. 2020 - After a cross-country road trip back from Florida together, Darby and Julie returned to Pullman in January and for their Junior Year. - They survived the pandemic together from the comfort of their apartment in Pullman, finding ways to enjoy every opportunity they had to get outside! 2021 - Julie proposed to Darby in Moab, Utah. They decided to plan the wedding for summer of 2023 so that they could focus on finishing school. 2022 - In May, Darby graduated with her BS in Psychology and Julie earned her BA in Landscape Architecture. - They moved to Vancouver and began their career's in their fields of study and are looking forward to buying their first house together! 2023 - They're getting married!
