Our story began when we both "swiped right" on Tinder. Danny sent me a romantic message on the app ("What do you have goin' on?" to be exact), and a few days later, we made plans for our first date at Bill's Beer Garden in Ann Arbor, MI on August 4th, 2016. I greeted Danny with a firm handshake, and was convinced he thought I'd friend zoned him (Danny still won't let me live it down to this day!). Much to my surprise, a second date was scheduled. This time, I greeted him with a hug! Two weeks after we met on our first date, we would begin our three-year long distance relationship. Danny moved back home to North Branch, and one year after that, I moved to Chicago to complete my master's degree. While I was living in Chicago, we promised to visit each other at least once a month. We kept both that promise, and Amtrak in business, while doing so! Two years later, I finally completed my master's degree program and moved back to Michigan where we rented our first apartment together. And as they say, the rest is history!

On the morning of March 22nd, 2022, I rolled over in bed to find Danny as stiff as a board staring up at the ceiling. He then turned to me and asked if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach (we were on vacation at St. Pete Beach, FL at the time). Since it was 7:30 in the morning, I responded with an audible "ugh" and hesitantly agreed. During the first few minutes of our walk, I noticed Danny was acting nervous and had his hands in his pockets the entire time. I quickly realized what was happening and immediately felt a sense of calmness and excitement. Suddenly, Danny stopped us from walking, took my hands, looked me in the eyes, got down on one knee and asked if I'd marry him! I tearfully said "yes"—it was the best moment ever. We were basically alone on the beach just after sunrise. The perfect proposal. After we got back from our walk, we were met with the family we were staying with who were all completely shocked. Danny didn't tell anyone he was going to propose (except for my dad), which I wasn't surprised about. The rest of the day was spent celebrating with friends and family, and ended with the most beautiful beach sunset ever! We're so excited to celebrate our next chapter with you all!
