Our love story began in Iowa City at a Gopher/ hawkeye football game on October 11th, 2015. I had just moved back to Minnesota to start working at the salon. James was living in Rochester. It didn’t take long for me to move in with him, we were inseparable. The following summer we got the best news ever, we were expecting a baby boy. We both decided it would be best if we moved back to Chatfield to be closer to family. We started building our house July of 2016. We moved in right before we welcomed Decker on March 13th 2017. Life didn’t slow down after that. Fast forward a few years to Febuary 5th, 2019 we welcomed our second child Demi. As time went on the question kept getting brought up, when are James and you going to get married? I remeber on James’ birthday November 18th, 2019 i was home sick not able to get out of bed. James and his mom were headed to La Crosse for his birthday lunch. If anyone knows James AND his mom they don’t leave town. The only thing in La Crosse was Howe’s Diamond Jeweler. I was so excited i think i forgot i was sick. But then months went by, 6 to be exact and he still hadn’t popped the question. What was taking to long. I still think it was because he was slow on asking my dad’s permission. The weekend of Mother’s Day came. I woke up Sunday to James crawling out of bed at 6am and heading out to the kitchen. I was still half asleep and thought he is going to make breakfast how sweet. Then he came back into our room and to my side of the bed. He pulled the shade open and just when i went to roll over to ask him what the heck he was doing waking us up so early i found him on his knee! I really don’t remember much after that because i was so shocked and excited. It was a snow storm that day. The best part about all of this is that we got to share this memory with Decker and Demi!
